Thuringia and Saxony were also affected by the nationwide disruption to the authorities' digital radio. According to the situation center of the Ministry of the Interior in Dresden, communication between the emergency services was somewhat more difficult as a result, but this did not affect the operational capability.
A spokesperson for the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior said that digital radio was already working again in some places in the state by the evening. According to the Gera rescue control center, radio communication was temporarily interrupted. They therefore had to switch to other channels.
According to information provided by the Federal Ministry of the Interior at the request of Deutsche Presse-Agentur, the disruption to digital radio occurred nationwide. The extent and cause of the disruption are still unclear.
