A female driver has suffered serious injuries in a rear-end collision on the highway 7. For initially unknown reasons, an articulated truck broke down on the highway, the woman hit the truck with her car near the Hannover-Ost exit and became trapped in the vehicle, police said on Friday. She was rescued by the fire department and taken to hospital. The ages of the injured woman and the truck driver were initially unclear. It was also not initially known whether the truck driver was injured. The highway was closed in the direction of Hamburg and police warned of traffic jams.
