Lufthansa is cutting its ground staff at Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports in Saxony. Around 130 employees of the two subsidiaries Airport Services Leipzig GmbH (ASL) and Airport Services Dresden GmbH (ASD) have been made redundant, Lufthansa spokeswoman Anja Lindenstein announced. The "Leipziger Volkszeitung" and "Sächsische Zeitung" had previously reported on this.
The ground staff handle Lufthansa aircraft and planes from the Group brands Eurowings, Austrian Airlines and Swiss. This is to end with the changeover to the winter flight schedule at the end of October. The tasks will be taken over by two subsidiaries of the airport operator Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG.
