Teenage moped rider flees from police in the Ore Mountains

A 15-year-old moped rider has had a chase with the police in the Ore Mountains. A patrol stopped two mopeds in Oelsnitz, the police said. When the officers got out of their car, one of the riders accelerated and drove off recklessly.

The police pursued the moped, but gave up when the two-wheeler fled along a footpath. However, the officers had noted the license plate number and were waiting for the 15-year-old at his home. He is said to have been driving under the influence of cannabis. The police are also investigating him for illegal motor vehicle racing.
