The number of building permits for apartments in Saxony fell sharply last year. In 2023, permits were issued for a total of 8699 apartments with an area of 893,600 square meters in the Free State, as announced by the State Statistical Office on Monday. This was 26 percent less than in the previous year. The city of Leipzig recorded the most approvals for new residential buildings with 382, followed by the district of Leipzig with 349 and the city of Dresden with 219 approved buildings.
