A car has crashed into several people in Leipzig city center.
What we know
- According to a city spokesperson, two people died; two people were seriously injured.
- The driver of the vehicle was arrested, according to police. He is currently no longer a danger, they said.
- A video of numerous emergency services - fire department, ambulance and police - at the scene could be seen on X.
- The incident took place in Grimmaische Straße, which leads from Augustusplatz into Leipzig's pedestrian zone; nearby are Leipzig University and St. Nicholas Church.
