This year, Saxony’s Family Day will feature not only numerous hands-on activities but also appearances by celebrities. Actress Teresa Weißbach, known among other things for her role as a forest ranger in the ZDF Erzgebirge crime series, is expected to attend as a special guest, the Ministry of Social Affairs announced. The program also features a performance by singer Frank Schöbel and his band. To ensure that teenagers and young adults also get their fill of music, the Leipzig-based DJ duo Eastbeatbrothers has been booked.
Under the motto “We Are Family,” Family Day invites visitors to Stollberg in the Erzgebirge on Saturday (August 22) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Numerous clubs, organizations, and companies will be presenting free activities: from the animal shelter and the carnival club to health insurance providers and Chemnitz University of Technology, as well as the Consumer Advice Center and social welfare organizations. Admission is free.
