Six Saxon sports clubs have received funding for the renovation and modernization of their sports facilities. A total of 147,628 euros went to the clubs as investment sports funding, as announced by the Saxon Ministry of the Interior. Among others, Sportgemeinschaft Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe e.V. received more than 42,000 euros for the construction of a fully automatic irrigation system at its sports facility.
"With sports funding, we are not only securing sports facilities for popular sports in Saxony, but also creating a social climate and human quality of life on site," emphasized Interior Minister Armin Schuster (CDU). According to the information, further projects amounting to 319,478.01 euros will be approved shortly.
The following clubs were also considered in the first round of funding: FC Bad Lausick 1990 e.V. (renovation of the floodlight system), SV 1896 Großdubrau (bowling alley control system), SV Sachsen 90 Werdau e. V. (fence system), SV Sachsen 90 Werdau e.V. (fencing system), SSV 1952 Torgau e.V. (replacement of the floodlights in the gymnasium) and SV Klinga-Ammelshain e.V. (retrofitting floodlights).
