Following the pornography scandal during a theater project at a secondary school in Lusatia, Saxony, the AfD is putting the issue on the agenda in the Bundestag. The parliamentary group's First Parliamentary Secretary, Bernd Baumann, announced to journalists that there would be a debate in the form of a topical debate at the request of the AfD. This is expected to take place on Thursday. It is about a theater project at a secondary school in Schleife in Lusatia, Saxony. The case took place in March and made headlines last week. During the project on the topic of "courage" and "current political issues", ninth graders were allegedly presented with pornographic images and content in the classroom. It was organized by the youth organization "Socialist Youth of Germany - The Falcons", which has since expressed its regret. According to media reports, the images were of two men engaging in various sexual practices. According to the authorities, the school management discontinued the project and terminated the service contract with those responsible for the project. The Amadeu Antonio Foundation, which campaigns for minorities and human rights and, according to its own information, provided financial support for the workshop, stopped the funding, according to a statement. Several parents filed criminal charges after the incident. The police are investigating on suspicion of distributing pornographic content to minors. Schools are actually a matter for the federal states and outside the regulatory powers of the federal government. Nevertheless, the AfD is putting the issue on the agenda in the Bundestag. The whole thing is considered to be just the tip of the iceberg, said the parliamentary group's education policy spokesperson, Götz Frömming. The AfD is aggressively mobilizing against so-called NGOs (non-governmental organizations), such as the Amadeu Antonio Foundation, as it believes they exert too much political influence.
