A Fresh Start for Paul Lehmann: The Dresden native is now making a permanent move to SC Verl. Why this transfer promises him new opportunities.

Defender Paul Lehmann is leaving second-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden and joining SC Verl in the 3. Liga. Both clubs announced the move, though they agreed not to disclose the transfer terms. In Verl, he signed a two-year contract after having already played 19 competitive matches for the club on loan during the previous season.

The Dresden native spent many years in the Schwarz-Gelben’s youth academy. He made a total of six appearances for the SGD’s first team.

“Due to minor injuries during the season, Paul had not yet been able to gain the playing time he needed for his further development. After intensive discussions, we have mutually decided that a permanent change of scenery may be the right move for Paul. In Verl, he can take the next steps in an environment he has already had the chance to get to know over the course of a season,” said Dresden’s sporting director, Sören Gonther.
