The Niners Chemnitz, a team in the German Basketball Bundesliga, celebrated their third consecutive victory in the EuroCup. Coach Rodrigo Pastore’s team defeated Polish record champions Slask Wroclaw 95–67 (46–40) in front of a home crowd after a strong performance. Cobe Williams led Chemnitz in scoring with 21 points. The hosts got off to a shaky start and quickly fell behind 8–19 (7th minute). However, they subsequently picked up the pace significantly and turned the deficit into a 27–21 lead (12th minute) with a furious 19–2 run. After a timeout, the Poles regained their rhythm on offense, but the hosts always had the right answer and extended their lead to eleven points (69–58) shortly before the end of the third quarter. With intense defense and strong rebounding, Chemnitz stifled a late surge by the visitors in the final quarter and played with sheer exhilaration in the closing minutes.
