Second-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden can continue to count on Jakob Lemmer. The 26-year-old winger has extended his contract, which was set to expire on June 30, the club announced. “We’re delighted that Lemmi has chosen to build a future with us,” said sporting director Sören Gonther. “He has continued to develop here over the past few years and has grown alongside the club.”
The Giessen native transferred to Dresden from Kickers Offenbach in January 2023 and has made 135 competitive appearances during his time in Dresden. Last season, Lemmer made 32 appearances, scoring six goals and providing two assists.
Due to Dynamo’s relegation battle, the player did not want to extend his contract. “I deliberately didn’t want to make a hasty decision. In the season finale, my focus was entirely on avoiding relegation,” said Lemmer, “This is where I was able to play in the 2. Bundesliga for the first time in my career, and I’m really looking forward to many more great moments to come.”
