The Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof starts a day late on Friday. The schedule for the fourth event of the season was disrupted by heavy rain, gusts of wind and sub-zero temperatures. The men's sprint over ten kilometers starts on Friday at 11:20 am (ARD). The women's 7.5-kilometre race starts at 2.25 pm.
The German team will be starting the home race with three changes compared to the competition in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. Roman Rees, Sophia Schneider and Hanna Kebinger are healthy again, but David Zobel and Johanna Puff are not in the line-up.
Franziska Preuß is currently the best German in fifth place in the overall standings. The Norwegians dominate the men's race. Bavarian Philipp Nawrath is the first non-Scandinavian in sixth place.
