The Dresdner SC women's Bundesliga volleyball team remains true to its philosophy. Two young talents are moving up to the first team. This completes the team's planning.

The women's volleyball team at Dresdner SC will continue to rely on its own talent in the future. Setter Lena Olliges and libero Emilia Schaarschmidt—two players from the VC Olympia Dresden youth squad—have signed their first professional contracts, the six-time German champion announced. Both players have signed two-year contracts.

At just 17 years old, Lena Olliges—one of the most promising setters at the national training center—is moving up to the first-division roster. The setter, who hails from Mühldorf in Bavaria, moved to Dresden in 2024 and has been training regularly with the DSC team since 2025; she also made her Bundesliga debut against Erfurt last season.

DSC Roster Planning Complete

Emilia Schaarschmidt, a native of Dresden, has played for all of VC Olympia Dresden’s youth teams and has trained regularly with the Bundesliga squad. Now the 19-year-old is taking the next step. “We are consistently following our path of giving our own talents opportunities. Setter and libero are key positions that come with a lot of responsibility. I’m sure both of them will thrive under this responsibility,” explains DSC head coach Alexander Waibl, who has finalized his roster with a total of 13 players.
