Defensive battle not rewarded: Dynamo "only" 2:2 in Elversberg

A lively game developed from there. By the break, both teams had recorded nine shots on goal each. Dynamo goalkeeper Tim Schreiber developed into a tower in the defensive battle, drawing attention to himself with four strong saves and ensuring that his team even went into the break with a lead. Niklas Hauptmann had slyly stolen the ball from the hosts and served Lemmer, who had no trouble.

The second half began like the first: Dynamo had good opportunities to extend their lead through Kofi Amoako (48') and Hauptmann (49'). For some unknown reason, however, Dresden then withdrew completely, not only leaving the midfield to Elversberg, but also appearing to be more hesitant in defense than before. Dynamo literally begged for the equalizer.

Dynamo only tied down in defence

Actions of their own were few and far between. The substitutions of Nils Fröling and Stefan Kutschke did little to change that. They had to work hard at the back. Somehow, Dresden always managed to get a leg or body between them to avert the greatest danger. However, it was not enough until the final whistle. A moment of inattention cost them the win.
