Filip Bilbija scores three times before the break

Magdeburg started the game with the same starting XI as in the 4-1 win against VfL Bochum the previous week. However, the recently absent Alexander Nollenberger and Philipp Hercher returned to the squad. FCM were similarly patient in their build-up play, but neither team managed to score.
