The volleyball players of VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen lost their penultimate home game of the season. The newly promoted team lost to SWD powervolleys Düren, who are fifth in the table, in three sets by 20:25, 21:25 and 27:29 after 80 minutes. Petr Spulak, who was voted the game's most valuable player, played the biggest part in the visitors' success. Despite their twelfth defeat of the season, the team from Saxony-Anhalt maintained their seventh place in the table.
The home side initially got off to the better start in the first two rounds, leading 8:6 and 8:7 respectively. However, the club from Düren then took command, shone in particular in its block play and scored a total of 26 points as a result. The home side only managed 15 successful blocks over the course of the match. The home side was already 12:16 behind in the third set, then started a comeback and closed the gap to 20:21. However, it was not enough to win the set against Düren, who were cleverer in the decisive phases.
