1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig has extended the contract with its head coach Jochen Seitz ahead of schedule. The 49-year-old's new employment contract is now valid until the summer of 2028 at the regional soccer league club. Seitz ended his first season in Leipzig last year as a double winner - winning the Regionalliga Nordost championship and the Saxony Cup. "I am very pleased about the contract extension. (...) Of course we want to take the club forward and remain ambitious. Now we can also slowly plan the next season and enter into talks with the players," Seitz was quoted as saying in a club statement.
