Playmaker Diante Baldwin will no longer play for the basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC. The club from Weißenfels announced on Monday that it had reached an agreement with Baldwin to terminate his contract, which runs until the end of the season. The American will move within Europe and earn the club a transfer fee.
Baldwin joined the MBC in August of last year to replace the injured Charles Callison. The temporary contract was later extended until the end of the season. Baldwin made 22 appearances for Weißenfels in the Bundesliga and in the cup. The 29-year-old averaged 12.3 points.
The move also eases the MBC's financial situation. With the return of Vince Edwards to training, seven foreign professionals were in the squad. However, only six may be used per matchday. According to the club, this was not financially viable for the club.
