Leipzig's struggling Bundesliga handball team at least put up a good fight against their league rivals. However, they missed too many chances after the break.

The Bundesliga handball team SC DHfK Leipzig is still in a form crisis. The team of coach Runar Sigtryggsson lost 27:29 (17:18) at Frisch Auf Göppingen and thus conceded their fourth defeat in a row. Andri Runarsson was SC DHfK's best scorer with eight goals and the team remains in 13th place with 17:31 points.

The duel between the table rivals got off to a fast-paced start. Despite the absence of international Luca Witzke due to injury, Leipzig developed a lot of penetration at the back, but had major problems with Göppingen's quick transition play. Until the middle of the first half, both teams shone with extremely high shooting percentages. A change of goalkeeper then gave Leipzig fresh impetus.

The visitors fought their way back to within a goal on several occasions, but never managed to equalize. In the final phase, Frisch Auf confidently wrapped up the victory.
