Auer already look like the losers at Viktoria Köln. But with good morale and a bit of luck, they managed to draw.

In the second game under new coach Christoph Dabrowski, FC Erzgebirge Aue picked up another point to avoid relegation from the 3rd Football League. Thanks to a comeback from 2-0 down at Viktoria Köln, the 17th-placed team in the table drew 2-2 (0-1). After the recent 0-0 draw against FC Ingolstadt, however, Aue remained in a relegation spot.

Benjamin Zank put Cologne ahead in the 21st minute after a successful combination. Just five minutes earlier, Aue goalkeeper Martin Männel had made a strong save from a header by Zank to prevent them from going behind. At the other end, the game went on after Viktoria defender Verthomy Boboy saved from Marvin Stefaniak in the penalty area (35').

An unfortunate own goal from Tristan Zobel (56') saw Aue go 2-0 behind after the restart. Marcel Bär (62) restored hope for the visitors a little later with his header. After a tackle between Männel and Zank was not awarded a penalty, substitute Jannic Ehlers equalized in the 82nd minute. Ehlers even had the chance to score the winner shortly before the final whistle.
