After only three months: Coach Bogicevic leaves the MBC

Bundesliga basketball club Syntainics MBC has to look for a new coach. Milenko Bogicevic, who led the club from Saxony-Anhalt to relegation, is leaving the 2025 cup winners at his own request after just three months. According to information from the MBC, the 49-year-old Serbian will probably move within the Bundesliga.

"That's a shame, because we would have liked to keep him. With his energy, his expertise and his human nature, he quickly won the hearts of everyone," said sporting director Silvano Poropat.

License without conditions

Bogicevic has been in charge in Weißenfels since mid-February. The team has won ten of its 19 games, including victories against Bayern Munich and Alba Berlin. In the European North Basketball League, they missed out on the final in their own arena and ended up in third place.

The club now wants to present a new coach as soon as possible. At the beginning of the week, the MBC received its license for the coming season without any conditions or requirements.
