RB Leipzig's goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi returns from injury with the Hungarian national team and impresses in a friendly against Turkey.

Peter Gulacsi of Bundesliga club RB Leipzig has made his comeback for the Hungarian national team. In the 1-0 friendly win against Turkey on Friday evening, the goalkeeper put in a convincing performance in the starting berth duel with Denes Dibusz for the upcoming European Championship. "He played perfectly. We have two top goalkeepers," said coach Marco Rossi according to the Hungarian association's website. "If the situation was similar in all positions on the field, we would be among the ten best teams in the world. It seems that in the future I will have to decide who to put in goal according to the rock, paper, scissors scheme."

Gulacsi tore his cruciate ligament in October 2022. After a one-year break, the 33-year-old returned to goal for Leipzig. He will next be called upon with the Hungarian national team against Kosovo on Tuesday (19:00). Hungary will face Switzerland, hosts Germany and Scotland at the European Championships.
