The Bundesliga basketball team Niners Chemnitz celebrated its second victory in the Eurocup after an impressive display of energy. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore defeated the German runners-up ratiopharm Ulm 89:78 (48:35) in front of their home crowd. Kevin Yebo was the Niners' best scorer with 25 points.
Chemnitz got off to a focused start and was able to rely on Yebo in the opening spell, who added nine points to put his side 13:6 in front in the 5th minute. The visitors then briefly got into the game better, but only managed to score four buckets from the floor against the Niners' aggressive defense in the second quarter. As a result, Chemnitz built a 13-point cushion by the break.
After the break, however, the home side lost its playful edge. Ulm stepped up its game and produced a 9:0 run to tie the scores at 54:54 in the 28th minute. From then on, Chemnitz's outstanding playmaker Corey Davis Jr. took on a lot of responsibility. The game was on a knife's edge up to 76:75 (37:00) before the home side produced an 8:0 run to decide the encounter.
