The last two first-round DFB Cup games featuring champions Bayern Munich and Cup defending champions RB Leipzig will also be broadcast by ZDF and ARD. The Bavarians take on third-division promoted Preußen Münster on Tuesday (8:45 p.m.). The match can be seen on Zweites and on pay-TV channel Sky. On Wednesday (8:45 p.m.), RB Leipzig will host SV Wehen Wiesbaden, a team promoted to the second division. In addition to Sky then transmits the ARD.

Because of the Supercup game of FC Bayern against Leipzig (0:3) on August 12 in Munich, their games had been moved to this week. The other 30 first-round games had taken place between Aug. 11 and 14.

There are significantly more live broadcasts of the DFB Cup without additional costs than of the Bundesliga. ARD and ZDF secured a total of 15 games of the national cup competition per season in the most recent tender to date. The contract with the German Soccer Association is valid until 2025/26, and pay-TV broadcaster Sky shows all matches in the competition live. However, the broadcasts are not included in the Bundesliga package, but - like tennis and Formula 1 - in the sports package.
