Basketball Bundesliga team Syntainics MBC has finalized its roster for the upcoming season. Borisa Simanic is joining Weißenfels from Bosnian record champion KK Igokea Aleksandrovac. The Serbian power forward signed a one-year contract with MBC.
Syntainics head coach Vladimir Jovanovic knows the new addition from their time together at FMP Belgrade during the second half of the 2017–18 season. The Serbian national team player gained notoriety when, during the 2023 World Cup, he was seriously injured in the stomach after being elbowed by opponent Nuni Omot in a group stage game against South Sudan—an injury that at one point even put his life in danger. As a result, he had to have a kidney removed. The power forward did not return to the court until after a one-year injury layoff.
With Red Star Belgrade, Simanic won the Serbian championship four times, the national cup twice, and the ABA League three times. With Aleksandrovac, he won one championship and one cup title.
