The German biathletes still have to wait for their first relay podium this season. At the end of the home World Cup in Oberhof, Justus Strelow, Lucas Fratzscher, Philipp Nawrath and David Zobel finished fifth after 4 x 7.5 kilometers despite a great fight.
Until the last shooting, the German Ski Association and its fans could even dream of the first relay victory in almost five years. In March 2021, Nawrath, Erik Lesser, Benedikt Doll and Arnd Peiffer won in Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic.
After a total of ten reloads, however, the German quartet was 5.4 seconds behind the victorious Norwegians. France came second ahead of Sweden and Italy.
