Nearly a year ago, Gulacsi had torn the cruciate ligament and since then fought for his return to the gate. On Wednesday evening it was then finally so far. "I'm very happy and proud that I managed to do this. It's not something that can be taken for granted," he said. "He was very emotional, even after the game in the dressing room," reported Rose. "You can see how much he missed it."
While Gulacsi's lack of match practice was noticeable, he was nevertheless one of the team's mainstays again right away. "He got two buden, but was there in one or the other dicey situation. It was a good first step back to old strength," Rose praised the goalkeeper. In the Bundesliga top game against Bayern Munich next Saturday, however, Gulacsi will again make way for Janis Blaswich. "I still have several steps to go," the RB captain said.
