Solid, dominant, efficient—1. FC Magdeburg showed in its second game of the season in Osnabrück that the team can perform better than it did in its season opener against Braunschweig. Especially before halftime, the team from Magdeburg controlled the match almost at will in their 3-0 victory, but they also withstood Osnabrück’s pressure after the break and scored the decisive third goal.
“We prepared for the game with great focus, having many discussions, and yet you never know if it will actually work out that way. Overall, it was a very confident performance,” summarized FCM coach Petrik Sander. The lineup changes—some forced by suspensions and illness—proved just as effective as the team’s new mindset.
