Luca Sirch is the first new signing for second-division soccer club 1. FC Kaiserslautern for the new season. The midfielder joins from regional league side 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig. The club made the announcement on Sunday without specifying the duration of the contract. Born in Augsburg, he has scored a total of 17 goals in 109 league games for Leipzig.
"We have followed his development closely and are convinced that he can make the leap from the regional league to our second division squad. He is characterized above all by his flexibility and can play both in central defence and in central midfield," said managing director Thomas Hengen, explaining the signing.
