RB Leipzig are gaining momentum under new coach Ole Werner. In the fast-paced 6:0 (4:0) goalfest against FC Augsburg, the Saxons, featuring a number of new turbo players and led by the brilliant teenagers Yan Diomande (18) and Assan Ouédraogo (19), played with gusto and ice-cold.
With their pace and technique, the attacking line in particular, featuring goalscorers Diomande (10th minute), Rômulo (18th) and Antonio Nusa (22nd), exposed coach Sandro Wagner's home side as naive and out of their depth early on.
Midway through the first half, the game was decided. Almost every Leipzig shot was a goal against a defenceless Augsburg defence full of holes, which allowed itself to be caught out and taken by surprise. Christoph Baumgartner (38') increased the score to 0:4 before the break.
