The handball players of SV Union Halle-Neustadt have not stopped their free fall and are still in acute danger of relegation in the Bundesliga. Coach Till Wiechers' charges lost 21:25 (10:13) at third-placed HSG Bensheim/Auerbach on Saturday, their tenth defeat in a row. Their last success came on February 3, when they beat HSG Bad Wildungen 33:30. Isabell Hurst, Kim Naidzinavicius (6 goals each) and Alicia Soffel (5) played the biggest part in the hosts' victory. Edita Nukovic (5) and Alexandra Lundstrom (4/2) scored the most goals for the visitors
The club from Halle missed the opening spell and trailed 1:6 after eight minutes. However, the relegation candidates did not give up, closed the gap to 9:10 in the 26th minute and were even 17:15 ahead after 41 minutes. However, the hosts turned the game around with a 5:1 run to make it 20:18 in the 50th minute.
