After the fan protests last weekend, Borussia Mönchengladbach supporters also staged a silent protest at their home stadium on Friday evening against the planned political measures on security issues.
"No to the plans of the Conference of Interior Ministers. Interior Minister Reul: No resolutions against our fan culture", read the banners in the Gladbach fan block at the match against RB Leipzig. There was no support from the curve for 12 minutes, and the fans in the north curve also held up small white pieces of paper with "No" written on them.
The supporters fear drastic measures such as personalized tickets or stricter stadium bans. This is to be discussed at the conference of interior ministers in Bremen next week. The club understands the fans' concerns. "We can understand the protests of our fans. Of course, the safety of our stadium visitors is of paramount importance to us. However, we are convinced that it is safe to visit the stadium," said Borussia's management.
