The FC Erzgebirge Aue remains unbeaten in the 3rd league. On Saturday afternoon, coach Pavel Dotchev's team won 2-1 (0-0) at TSV 1860 Munich. Marcel Bär (85.) and Maximilian Thiel (87.) scored the goals for the Saxons, after Joel Zwarts (53.) had put the home side in the lead.
In the sold-out stadium on Grünwalder Straße, both teams initially needed something to find their way into the game. The 15,000 fans present saw though again and again advances of the two teams, clear goal chances remained however from. In the 41st minute, striker Marcel Bär had the first really good opportunity for the FCE, but the ex-Munich player did not hit the perfectly entered ball free in front of the goal.
In the second round, the pace increased. First hit Zwarts for the lead for 1860, in the 56th minute could prevent Aue's goalkeeper Martin Männel a further counter-goal only just. After that, however, the Saxons also had more opportunities. In the eventful final phase, Bär ultimately managed to equalize before Thiel shot the Violets to victory.
