The Niners Chemnitz, a team in the German Basketball Bundesliga, has extended its winning streak in the EuroCup. Coach Rodrigo Pastore’s team shone in front of a home crowd with a commanding 96–77 (46–32) victory over defending champion Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse. In their fourth straight win, Ben Burnham led Chemnitz in scoring with 22 points in front of 2,620 spectators. The hosts got off to a blistering start and were already leading 10–0 after three and a half minutes. Although the French team stepped up their game significantly afterward, Chemnitz fought back fiercely and even extended its lead with an 11–3 run shortly before halftime. Chemnitz continued to impress after the break as well. Thanks to their strong defensive play and excellent accuracy from long range, they pulled ahead to 75–47 (29th minute). By the end of the third quarter, the Saxons had already made 13 three-pointers. In the final quarter, their concentration noticeably waned, though their clear victory was never in danger.
