Dynamo have plenty of time before the DFB Cup against Mainz. This will be used for a test match - but without the public and without the coach.

Second-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden will use the long break between the point match against 1. FC Magdeburg this Saturday (1:00 pm/Sky) and the DFB Cup match against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on August 18 for a test match. Their opponents on August 13 will be regional league side Hertha BSC II at the Dynamo Academy at 3:00 pm. The match will not be open to the public.

"Matches offer the best opportunity to optimize processes and also to give players who have recently had less playing time or are in development some match practice. From a tactical point of view, however, we don't want to reveal too much to our upcoming opponents, so we have decided to play the game in private," said Dynamo's sporting director Thomas Brendel in a club statement.

Coach Stamm serves his ban against Hertha

Dresden will also use the match to serve the ban for coach Thomas Stamm. Following his red card in the test against SV Ried (3:1), Stamm was suspended for a friendly match by the sports court of the German Football Association (DFB). Stamm had entered the pitch in the preparation match against the Austrian first division team on 5 July after a decision by the referee and "verbally and gesticulously criticized" the referee.

He is now not allowed to be inside the stadium, in the changing rooms, in the players' tunnel or in the dressing room corridor for half an hour before kick-off until half an hour after the final whistle against Hertha II. In addition, he is not allowed to make contact with his team.
