Holger Scholze is no longer president of third-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden. The 53-year-old resigned from office and informed the supervisory board of his decision in the evening. Prior to this, a member had put a motion to the vote at the general meeting at the Dresden Congress Center to drop the honorary council proceedings. However, at the end of the meeting, which lasted over nine hours, the remaining members decided not to vote on the motion - meaning the penalty against Scholze remained in place.
Scholze thus drew the consequences of a dispute with the Honorary Board. The latter had accused him of taking advantage in office. In one incident, Scholze had made "very detailed and targeted advertising for his entrepreneurial work in the investment industry", as stated in the annual report for the 2023/24 season. The Honorary Council had therefore fined him 1,000 euros. Scholze always denied the accusations and did not pay the fine. As a result, the Honorary Council revoked his membership rights, which is why he was not present at the general meeting.
