The shake-up in Dynamo's roster is massive. Even as the team heads off to training camp, another new player is joining the squad. The coach therefore wants to make the most of the week to fine-tune the team.

Coach Thomas Stamm has a lot of work ahead of him. After morning practice and lunch, Dynamo Dresden set off by bus on Thursday for their training camp in Windischgarsten, 500 kilometers away. Also on board was Ben Bobzien, another new addition to the Elbe City team. The 23-year-old attacking player is making a permanent move to “Elbflorenz” following a successful loan stint last season with Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05.

“After his strong performances in the second half of the season and the progress Ben has made with us, we were determined to keep him. Following intensive negotiations, I’m very happy that we managed to finalize this even before leaving for training camp,” said sporting director Sören Gonther.

First Real Test Against Grazer AK

Now, after the massive roster shake-up at Dynamo, coach Stamm has one week at the training camp between Salzburg and Linz to put the finishing touches on the team’s preparation. The first real test will come on Saturday (4:00 p.m.) at the DANA Arena against first-division side Grazer AK in a two-halves match lasting 60 minutes each. According to Stamm’s wishes, the pros should get plenty of playing time. Otherwise, the focus will be on team building and plenty of discussions.

The official season opener at home will take place at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion on August 1 (2:00 p.m.) with a friendly against 1. FC Union Berlin. Prior to that, on July 25 (1:00 p.m.), there will be another friendly against second-division newcomer Energie Cottbus.
