The Dresden SC women's volleyball team are pressing ahead with their personnel planning and have signed middle blocker Raeven Chase. As the German runners-up announced, the 26-year-old Canadian is moving from French first division club Bordeaux Mérignac Volley to the Elbe and has signed a one-year contract. Chase comes from Toronto, received her training at Eastern Michigan University and also gained experience at top Swiss club Viteos NUC in Neuchatel in the 2024/25 season. There she celebrated the national treble by winning the Swiss Championship, the Swiss Cup and the Supercup. During this success, she shared the court with diagonal attacker Maia Dvoracek, who was recently signed from Dresdner SC. "Raeven is a great athletic player who has a very good one-legged attack. She has the potential to become a very dominant blocker and will be able to play an important role for us. She has already gained a lot of experience abroad and will be able to bring that to our team," said DSC coach Alexander Waibl. Chase is the sixth new signing for the six-time German champions after Sarah Straube, Lena Kindermann, Mackenzie Foley, Morgan Geddes and Dvoracek. Copyright 2026, dpa (www.dpa.de).
