For his three yellow cards in the still young Bundesliga season, FC Augsburg coach Sandro Wagner has turned to the German Football Association (DFB). The 37-year-old seemed to be particularly annoyed by the recent caution in the 1-1 draw in Cologne. Referee Timo Gerach had shown the Swabian coach a yellow card for complaining after just over an hour of play. After three cautions in just seven games so far this season, Wagner is now just one away from a one-match ban.
"If you know me, then you know that I like to understand things in all their complexity. I couldn't do that there," he reported and revealed: "That's why I've already spoken to one or two people at the DFB on the phone and I'm smarter now." Wagner did not give any details of the discussions, but added once again, looking back on the caution in Cologne: "Everyone can judge for themselves whether it was a yellow card or not."
