The Niners Chemnitz basketball team can qualify directly for the play-offs on its own. The club from Saxony won its game at Veolia Towers Hamburg by 93:88 (35:50). Victor Bailey Jr. (23), Jacob Gilyard (17), Roman Bedime (15), DeAndre Landsdowne and Olivier Nkamhoua (11 each) played the biggest part in the 18th win of the season for Rodrigo Pastore's charges. Brae Ivey (17), Jhonathan Stove (15), Jaizec Lottie, Niklas Wimberg (13 each) and Kur Kuath (11) scored the most points for Hamburg.
The visitors were initially completely out of sorts. Hamburg was 29:12 ahead after the first quarter and extended its lead to 59:37 by the 25th minute. However, Chemnitz staged a furious comeback, reduced the deficit to eight points (65:57) in the space of four minutes and tied the scores for the first time in the encounter thanks to a three by Lansdowne to make it 80:80 with three minutes remaining. The visitors held their nerve in the final spell and turned the game around after trailing by 22 points. In the end, the better three-point percentage tipped the scales in favor of Saxony, which converted nine of its 33 attempts. Hamburg was only able to make six of its 30 shots from distance.
