31 shots on goal, but only one goal: Wolfsburg and Leipzig have a wild game in the Bundesliga. In the end, two series hold up.

RB Leipzig have continued their winning streak in the Bundesliga. The 1:0 (1:0) win at VfL Wolfsburg was their fourth successive victory. Johan Bakayoko scored for RB in the 8th minute. It was the 600th goal in Leipzig's Bundesliga history.

Despite an abundance of chances for both teams, no further goals were scored in this match. Leipzig's Christoph Baumgartner even missed a penalty in the 90th minute.

Shortly after the break, the new signing from Eindhoven hit the crossbar with a long-range shot (48'). After that, however, this game full of pace and chances almost tipped over.

Because Wolfsburg came out of the locker room with much more momentum after the substitution of Dane Adam Daghim - and subsequently had three good opportunities in just three minutes: Konstantinos Koulierakis with a header (53rd), Jonas Wind (55th) completely unchallenged and Amoura (56th) after a corner kick each failed to score from close range.

And when Dane Jonas Wind hit the crossbar in the 63rd minute, Wolfsburg's lead was over.

Penalty only after video evidence

Shortly afterwards, Wolfsburg's new star Christian Eriksen made his home debut for VfL. The Dane was substituted for the Swede Mattias Svanberg in the 70th minute - and the wild festival of chances on both sides continued.

Diomande missed the 2:0 for Leipzig (71st). The second Wolfsburg goal was a header from Dzenan Pejcinovic (74'). Eriksen's first Bundesliga goal was only a few centimeters away: Denmark's record international shot just wide after Amoura's preparatory work (77').

The late penalty for Leipzig was only awarded after video evidence was used. Referee Robin Braun had initially overlooked Joakim Maehle's foul on Bakayoko. The fact that the Austrian Baumgartner also missed this chance was in keeping with the game: in the end, the statistics counted 18:13 shots on goal, but only one goal.
