Thuring a joint cabinet meeting in the Harz Mountains, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt want to coordinate on flood protection and nature conservation. The meeting, which will be chaired by Minister Presidents Mario Voigt (Thuringia) and Reiner Haseloff (Saxony-Anhalt) on Tuesday, will also discuss the continuation of the special investment program for the preservation of cultural assets. The two CDU politicians want to report on the results of the consultations at 12.30 p.m.
The two state governments want to discuss a joint, cross-state flood concept for the River Helme near the border of the two federal states at the meeting in Stolberg in the southern Harz region. They will also discuss cooperation between the Karstlandschaft Südharz biosphere reserve in Saxony-Anhalt and the Kyffhäuser Nature Park in Thuringia.
