IT problems have led to problems with payment administration in Saxony's authorities and institutions, according to an MDR report. According to the investigative editorial team of Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, the reason for this is a software changeover. As a result, incoming and outgoing payments could not be processed and allocated as usual for months.
The State Office for Taxation and Finance did not initially confirm the information on request. According to MDR research, numerous institutions are affected: The Central Fines Office has accordingly imposed a stop on all dunning procedures. Several universities are unable to track the payment of semester fees due and cannot process salary payments for employees and student assistants as usual. The exact extent of the impact is unclear.
