In the view of Minister President Michael Kretschmer (CDU), the federal government's special fund should be used mainly under the free responsibility of the municipalities and districts. With the total of 4.8 billion euros for the Free State, there is the possibility of making important investments, said Kretschmer.
The guiding principle is that around two thirds of the money could be distributed via the municipal administration. This must now be discussed, the board of the Saxon Association of Towns and Municipalities is meeting to discuss this. "Our colleagues need to think about it," said Kretschmer.
