Two weeks before the start of the 30th "Day of the Saxons" in Sebnitz and in the neighboring Czech town of Dolní Poustevna, the program of the large folk festival has been presented. "The "Day of the Saxons" is our largest folk and local festival in the Free State," said Alexander Dierks (CDU), President of the State Parliament and President of the Board of Trustees, during the program preview in the Saxon State Parliament. It is an incomparable opportunity to celebrate volunteering, the diversity of associations and social cohesion.
A parade as the highlight and a sign of solidarity
A total of 18 themed festival areas, eleven stages and numerous hands-on activities are planned - from a historic army camp to a fairground with a Ferris wheel and a large blue light mile. The highlight is the two-hour-long parade on Sunday with bands, historical pictures and floats.
"We are looking forward to showing our guests a thriving, open and peaceful Sebnitz for three days," said Mayor Ronald Kretzschmar (non-party).
