Saxony wants to expand its economic relations with France. On Monday, Economics Minister Dirk Panter (SPD) will therefore travel to Germany's neighboring country with a delegation of entrepreneurs. The focus will be on microelectronics, life sciences, composite materials and renewable energies, the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced. Stops on the trip until Friday are Grenoble, Paris and Montpellier. Panter and his companions will visit companies and trade fairs.
Saxon exports to France have increased
In 2024, Saxon companies delivered goods worth around 2.7 billion euros to France. This was the highest value for over 15 years. This put the neighboring country in sixth place in the country ranking. Exports mainly concerned products from the automotive, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering sectors, as well as aircraft and goods made of plastics. The positive trend continued in 2025: After three quarters, exports to France were 13 percent above the previous year's level, it said.
