The Werteunion wants to found its third state association in Saxony and prepare for the state elections in September.

The Werteunion party, founded in February, plans to establish its third state association in Saxony next Sunday. With the election of candidates for the state elections in September, the Werteunion is positioning itself for the election campaign in Saxony, according to a statement on Thursday evening. There are around 20 candidates for the state list. Entrepreneur Heiko Petzold is reportedly standing for election as state chairman.

The federal chairman of the party, former President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution Hans Georg Maaßen, said in the statement: "I am delighted that we will now have the opportunity to actively shape politics at state level in Saxony. We stand for values and freedom." So far, there are state associations in Thuringia and Schleswig-Holstein.
