Around 81,000 people work in Saxony's creative industries. With millions in funding, their work is to be strengthened and better networked in the long term.

The "Creative Saxony" competence center receives institutional funding from the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Minister Dirk Panter (SPD) handed over a notification for 1.38 million euros. Previously, the network center was funded as a project. The new type of funding gives it a long-term, predictable perspective, the ministry announced.

"Creative Saxony" has been supporting players in the cultural and creative industries in Saxony since 2017. The service center offers advice and ensures visibility and networking.

The industry is important for Saxony, explained the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Around 81,000 people work in twelve sub-sectors ranging from architecture, design and arts and crafts to software/games.
