After repeated attacks on candidates and election campaign workers, Federal Green Party leader Ricarda Lang has called for cross-party solidarity to protect democracy. Lang said in Dresden on Saturday that the attacks were no longer only directed against people in the first or second row of politics, but also against volunteers and helpers. These are attacks on democracy. It was important to show a clear stance against anti-democrats. "Our election posters may be destroyed, but our commitment to democracy will never be destroyed."
Under the title "Wir weichen nicht! Posters for our democracy", the Greens wanted to send a signal of solidarity to campaigners in Dresden on Saturday.
